Dunkeld
Sunday 4th of March 2018.

Scotland was in the grips of “the beast from the east” and earlier in the week we were advised not to travel unless absolutely necessary.
The original plan was modified and 10 of us met at Dunkeld. Our target for the day: Deuchary Hill. After lunch at Mill Dam we headed up the east side of the loch initially following footprints but it soon became harder going breaking our own trail. We fought up through heather and deep snow till we eventually found the path to the summit. There were only limited views and it continued to snow. After a picnic in shelter below the trig point we headed off to the NW towards Lochan Na Beinne and floundered and bum slid down the deep snow to the track leading from end of the Loch. From there we hit the Loch Ordie vehicle track and followed that back to the start. Tea and cakes at Mel & Grahame’s afterwards much appreciated. Alasdair
