Callander Crag

Catherine, Kenny and I spent the Sunday afternoon on the sport climbs at Callander Crag.

These are a relatively new set of routes on rather loose conglomerate. The day began inauspiciously with Catherine pulling out a cobble the size of a grapefruit. Belayers were also constantly showered with smaller pebbles and fragments as climbers moved up or down the routes. Despite this, the routes are an enjoyable mix of 5s and 6s, all requiring balance without being too steep. Even better, the sun was shining the whole day, making warm work of the climbing.
