| The following list is intended for members of the club only. Any non-members who are interested in attending a meet should contact the club through the Secretary and become prospective members. Please do not just turn up! This is especially important for weekend meets as places are normally limited and therefore controlled by the convener. | |||

|||
| OCTOBER 2008 |
|||
| October 5th | Day meet a flexi meet along the A9 | Des Bassett | Meet
up in Perth at 8.00 a.m., head off up the A9 and choose what you want to
do. Climbing on the Newtonmore Crags – Creag Dubh available for the
hard men, the Drumochter Hills, Beinn a’ Ghlo. An interesting concept
for a meet. The Editor is planning a round of the Monadh Liath Munros. |
| October 18th & 19th | Naismith's Hut, Elphin | Des Bassett | A small SMC hut in a marvellous area. All the monoliths such as Suilven, Stac Polly, etc are in easy reach, as well as Ben More Assynt to the north and Beinn Dearg to the south. Fully booked at the moment but a reserve list is in operation. |
| NOVEMBER 2008 |
|||
| November 9th | Daymeet to Bridge of Orchy | Graham Crowder | Shorter days are now with us so we don’t want to travel too far. Plenty of Munros and Corbetts and a few through routes. |
| November 29th & 30th | Annual Dinner Meet Kingshouse, Glencoe | Trish Reed | Fuller details are given in the body of
the Newsletter. Last year the Glasgow J.M.C.S held their annual dinner here;
Dave Baker went on behalf of the club and reported a ‘good do’
There is plenty to do, of course, in the Glencoe area either on the Saturday before the Dinner or on the Sunday after it. |
| DECEMBER 2008 |
|||
| December 14th | Daymeet to Glen Lochay | Phillip Taylor | We have had a number of successful
meets at this time of the year in Glen Lochay, often with excellent weather. Hills on both sides of the glen or the Tarmachans and Ben Lawers if you feel you have done all the Glen Lochay hills. Leave promptly from the end of the High Street at 8.00 a.m. (the days are very short by now!) |

LIST FOR 2009 |
|||
JANUARY
2009 |
|||
| January 1st | New Years Day Meet to Ben Vrackie | It is some time since we have had either a Corbett or a Munro as our New Year’s Day objective. One and half to two hours to the top, an hour and a quarter down and into the Moulin Hotel for a post Meet social. Everybody welcome – families, dogs. Younger and older people might consider going to the lochan and back. Just turn up at the Ben Vrackie car park (G.R. 945599 – right in the top left corner of map 53) at 11.00 a.m. Blow any Hogmanay cobwebs away. | |
| January 10th & 11th | Milehouse | Rhod Watt | This is always a popular venue in the LSCC hut near Kincraig, with immediate access to the Glen Feshie hills and within easy commuting distance to the Northern Corries for the snow and ice men (assuming some winter snow) and it is no great hardship to get to the Monadh Liath either |
| FEBRUARY 2009 |
|||
| February 8th | Daymeet to either Newtonmore or Braemar | Des Bassett | The actual venue will be confirmed in an e-mail update. We have no other meets in the Braemar region this year so there may be some logic for choosing this. |
| February 21st and 22nd | Blackrock Cottage | Phillip Taylor | Another LSCC venue, situated by the ski road to the White Corries at the Glencoe skiing area. Depending on the conditions, everything could be on – snow and ice climbing, winter hill walking, ski-mountaineering, downhill skiing. Only 12 places in this atmospheric climbing hut so book early if you want to go. |
